The Volata Team Edition represents the latest in FIS approved race helmet design with a variable elasticity thermoplastic shell, front and rear in-molded Gate Shields, as well as proven impact shield technology. Equipped with 3-L MIPS, a unique MIPS system developed especially for the Volata race helmet, designed to reduce rotational forces on the brain. Also features removal ear pads and two-piece ear ports for excellent hearing. Compatible with Sweet Protection quick-fit chin guard system for slalom events, which can be mounted/unmounted in a matter of seconds and is sold separately (chin guard currently unavailable).

Ski racers are accustomed to icy conditions and fast speeds, and the Volata race helmet utilizes all of the latest safety technologies to create a helmet that even the most aggressive racers will wear with confidence.

The Volata program is Sweet Protection’s top of the line race helmets. Co-developed with two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist Aksel Lund Svindal, all helmets feature a shock-absorbing EPS liner that includes Sweet Protection’s proprietary Impact Shields to help better distribute impact forces around the more angular front and back of the skull.

All Volata MIPS helmets feature 3-L MIPS, a unique, three-layer system developed in a close partnership between Sweet Protection and MIPS.

MIPS

MIPS technology is scientifically proven to reduce rotational motion by absorbing and redirecting rotational energies and forces transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head.

In a helmet with MIPS Brain Protection System (BPS) the shell and the liner are separated by a Low Friction Layer. When subjected to an angled impact, the low friction layer allows the helmet to slide relative to the head, protecting against rotational motion.

ABS Race Shell

Injection-molded ABS Thermoplastic Race Shell is very impact resistant through its unique rubber toughened construction. The shell is molded with extreme precision to offer the best performance to weight ratio.

Gate Shields

EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) is molded into the main EPS liner to protect the shock-absorbing structure of the helmet from gate impacts. Gate Shields are placed both in the front and the back of the helmet for gate wrap protection.

Impact Shields

A molded shock-absorbing EPS liner with Impact Shield inserts that provide unsurpassed performance for shock absorbance. Premium impact protection technology that distributes impact over larger areas in crucial zones where the head needs it the most (front and back).
